Gourmet Beef Lasagne

A rich british beef ragu combined with layers of delicate pasta & topped with a creamy béchamel sauce & grana padano cheese.

There are some dishes which I would love to eat more often, but it is difficult to find the time to make them properly. Take a lasagne: in order to get the required rich, indulgent taste, the ragu needs to be simmered for at least 2 hours, & I simply am not able to spare this time during the week. I thought there might be others out there inthis situation, so I created this range of fantastic oven-baked products. My chefs lovingly create the ragu & the béchamel, taking the time to get each ingredient absolutely right. Only when we feel they are perfect do we make the lasagne – this way you can be sure it will taste fantastic & I can be sure I am proud to serve it to you. Cooking instructions:

1. Pre-heat oven to 170°C/Gas mark 4.
2. Remove film & place lasagne in wooden box on a baking tray. Place tray in the centre of oven & bake for 40 mins.
3. Leave to stand for 3-4 mins before serving, taking care of hot surfaces.
4. Remove the lasagne by carefully lifting the paper lining at both ends & transfer to a plate.

Lasagne sheets (14%)
Cream

Chianti red wine
Free-range egg yolk
Smoked bacon
Onion
Tomato purée
Carrot
Celery
Water
Grana padano cheese
Dried mushrooms
Basil
Sunflower oil
Garlic purée
Salt
Demerera sugar

Béchamel sauce contains: milk, wheat flour, butter, salt, white pepper.

Lasagne sheets contain: durum wheat semolina, water, egg, salt.

Smoked bacon contains: pork, water, salt, preservatives: sodium nitrate, sodium nitrite, natural wood smoke.

Dried mushrooms contain: oyster mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, porcini mushrooms.
